Barry Winovich: Living with ALS
With Help from the VNA

This very special video about VNA patient Barry Winovich and his life with ALS was filmed for the Bright Side of the Road Foundation, the non-profit organization founded by Barry to fund research to find a cure for ALS, which is often referred to as Lou Gehrig’s disease.

Showing a day in Barry’s life highlights the personal care provided by VNA Home Assist aide, Ollie Tripp, and the special bond they have as she helps Barry with the tasks of daily living.

“I enjoy the challenge of finding the best ways to be of help, to keep my patients safe and comfortable at home as long as possible,” says Ollie, who within a month of caring for Barry was attending Bright Side of the Road Foundation events with hundreds of his family and friends.

“Everyone should have an Ollie,” says Barry.
